Simple Times 2
simple times It's a cold July night Tucked in bed quite alright I'm all grown up now so we stopped saying good night Starring at a picture, it's me But looking in the mirror I see......... hello stranger My heart's aching For simple times When it was easier to write poems with rhymes I hated the world then Didn't know, I would grow up and learn to hate it more My heart's aching For simple times Before grey entered the scene And suddenly yellow my favorite color seemed obscene When I could laugh out loud loud stretch those lips, that smile quite large That youth so wild Friday afternoons, pretend the guava trees were pirate ships Land locked but we sailed the 7 seas My heart's aching for simple times When the faith was easier And hope much cheaper Simple times when I could be an inventor My teacher asked: Make what, your people? They were simple times I hated the world then But I remember hating it less by Nyasha Gotosa Edited by Sir S.T.MAVINDIDZE
