Returning To the Snowman
We built a snowman the other day when winter had the gall to visit North Carolina…in the middle of the Fall We went back the next day to visit our snowman… to the exact post we set him on but since Fall had regained control of the season… our little snowman was gone. About the time we were lamenting…thinking our snowman was a ghost we found a note he had left us…tacked upon the post. To whomever built me yesterday it read…there’s something I’d like to say… I want to thank you for bringing me to life…if only for a day. Fall is something a snowman never get’s to see… We never see how the sun illuminates the changing colors of the trees. A snowman’s dominant color is white… it’s the color of our bodies and our heads… but yesterday for the first time I saw oranges and yellows and reds. In one day I felt things…I’m sure no snowman has ever felt… the more colors that I saw…the more my heart began to melt. So thank you for creating me…I wish I could thank you more… for allowing me to see colors no snowman has ever seen before. Just one more thing before I melt away…before I’m water instead of ice… then next time you build a snowman…adding a snow-woman would be nice
