Since many a million years back Earth and air by fate`s gracious hands Have been destined to be my friends And our friendship has kept intact. I quench the thirst of mother earth And the leafy offspring she breeds Mankind to nourish and to feed With the aid of air since our birth. My bed is lakes, streams and rivers, Reservoirs and the aquifers; With milky tears from the heaven I often feed the vast oceans. With ivory drops from the sky I bless earthly gardens and fields, Salute the lowly verdant hills And the beauteous mounts up high.
