Across the Fields
Across the fields I stare into the night, Waiting for a grand and glorious site. For the site that I was about to see, Was worth the wait, and patience was the key. A storm was brewing towards the north, I sat and waited for it to come forth. The cool wind cut to the skin, As my soul leaped from within. The smell of rain begin to fill the air, I was here for a reason I didn’t care. Set up in the bed of my truck, Camera in hand hoping for some luck. Just as expected it came in a flash, Lightning streaked followed by a crash. I stood in awe as I looked across the field, Nature at work, God’s art revealed. The field of cotton lit up like winter snow, I Grabbed my camera but was to slow. I was taken by the beauty and forgot to click, To capture this site you have to be quick. The night progressed on as I stood in awe, Until the storm begin to withdraw. I still remember that wonderful night, I’ll never forget that beautiful site. The way the cotton lit up with every strike, Reminds me of God’s beauty, strength, and might. By: Nathan Bane Leccese © All Rights Reserved 05/12/2009
