Unwritten
"If you cannot glean my poetry I will explain, but do not ask me to reveal what I've left unwritten between my lines." ~ by poet There are scarlet secrets, glimpses of my soul I dare not confide Tears flowing as crimson trickles, my bleeding heart can't hide Tete-a-tete conversations will never be leaked from my quill Too personal, they'll remain unwritten. A promise I must fulfill. I have scribed what my heart feels; or felt. It's anguish, pain, sorrow of love lost, weeping beneath dark clouds of disdain. I have doting recollections of days when I had no inhibitions and nights of making love, but details I'll not note in admissions. Emotions linger, echoes in my mind, whispers in plaintive groan Reflections of my life that will forever be confined as my own Sentiments spoken in interludes; a rendezvous with a love in tryst Unscripted in my poetry, for I shall not reveal the depth of a kiss. I allude to feelings of falling in love that made the earth shake but I'll not divulge the intimate aspects of sorrow and heartache. I'd never proclaim my unwritten words to be labeled 'divine' They're destined to be clandestine. I will not share any of mine. I don't need a whetstone to sharpen my affectionate memories I won't narrate words in Sonnets as if composed for melodies of private moments. It's not on a whim this vow I have taken but a promise that I made to myself, and it will not be forsaken. I'll never expose what was said to make my cheeks blush pink There will be no scribbles on parchment when I thirst for a drink of the nectar shared with the few I've loved and was smitten. Troth of discretion, my evocative confessions remain unwritten.
