Silence Was All I Needed
My morning walk was a little different today…there wasn’t a hint of a breeze. not one animal crossed my path…there were no birds singing in the trees. The clouds had blanketed the moon and stars…shutting off their light which left me walking all alone in the dark and the silence of the night. When I realized what was happening I stopped to breath in the silence where I stood. Then, so as not to disturb that silence, I walked on…as softly as I could. Every now and then I closed my eyes…trying with silence to attune…. Soon, I happily found silence engulfing me…as the clouds engulfed the moon. I love how nature provides me bird songs on my walk as I begin my day I love how she sends rabbits across my path to talk to along the way. I love looking up to see her stars and moon… all of this, for years, I’ve happily conceded… But this morning I love how she knew to blanket me in silence… how she knew silence was all I needed.
