Forgive and Forget
Forgiveness is an oxymoron. Trust is obliterated. It cannot be made new. Hatred still lingers. Forgiveness is an imaginary, thought in our minds, Where there is no solution. Can you truly forgive a person, Who has ripped your heart to shreds? One word does not make it all go away. It isn't that easy, It's not a solution. Forgive and forget is like oil and water. They don't mix; they will always separate. Forgive sometimes used interchangeably, With God or a celestial being. Each person has their own interpretation of God. You may say you forget but you're only fooling yourself. When all your tears are dried up when you remember trust was broken and, That One person alone destroyed your life. You do not want forgiveness, You want justice, retribution, revenge, you want them to pay. You want to stand before the Lady in White, as she holds the scales of justice. Lady Justice does not forgive or forget. She listens, and the scales balance, They do not falter; they do not lie. The word forgiveness is rarely used in court, Yet, I will never forget is uttered quite frequently. It is on record, and everyone will know. When we get justice, our hearts will begin to heal. Forgiveness? Never. I will never forget, but I did survive and, That is what I will remember.
