Abu Simble Temple
On stage so deep in heart of sand; Farthest from world of deep dismay At night in day thy Housefull show Since centuries therest on display O Ramses speak from deeps of sand! Wherest thou liveth for thousand years? Farthest from world by shore of Nile Farthest from world of mortal fears! Thy rule not marred by hands of time Thy mighty Nile not thee engulfed Which deities prayed in heart of stone? Which carriage run in paths so curved? Which goddess worship on Nile waves? Then walks on walls of solid rock? Which shadows shimmer in moonlight? Which phantoms in thy halls there walk? O stand for once from Royal seat! For once in magic sand thou walk! Thy Queen of heart there turned to stone O may she laugh and smile and walk! Thy silhouette pillars thence display Beyond the span of narrow day Wherest all time all time thou gaze? In sun in rain therest thou stay? By which egyptian land thou stands? By shore of sea by lake or bay? Thy echoes in the corridors They will linger till final day Thy dates on palms , thy figs on trees Art on display on thy doorway Which holy shrine, which holy temp ? Wherest thou worship in dismay? With lingering gaze at thee they look Though with their lips they nothing say Since centuries stood thy kids by thee O ask them, go and roam and play Thy lips they freezed by ice of awe! Thy guards all stand by thy great manse; What do they there by Salty Nile? What do they there in nights so dense? For thousand years thou slept in sands In shades of trees in airy ways In depth of sand, in holy land Then rowed thou in Titanic deep And hence emerged from desert sand Enclaved 0n walls of ancient manse From centuries stood thy guards on wait Oh speak for once from times of past! O speak from bank of ancient lake! Thy Savior John with Nubian boy Displayed thee on screen of world Thy palms, thy figs, thy papyrus trees They gaze at thee in deeps in awe They art thence turned in sheen of world In ancient lang, who wrote on walls These holy , pious sacred rhymes The men will read in days to come Thy psalms of life in hands of time All nymphs all sylphs in sand in Nile For thee they row and sing there rhyme In carriage made of moonlit beams Sit with thy queen there side by side The lips of earth are parched with thirst May clouds of sky with thee all ride Therest thou pray , to God of world Without the fear of time and tide
