The Long Road Home
Morning Sun calls from behind the occasional cloud above seeking those willing to rise and face the drudgery of yet another day’s fruitless effort. Uninvited rays of warmth intrude upon my slothful desires finding me directionless in the fog of morning routines and though resting gentle upon my flesh they come in full demand my spirit answer summons to another day’s effort adrift. The ever present resilience within me, that willingness to heed the call and rise once more from the ash of yesterday’s failings has begun to wain having been challenged by such long drought from victory’s table . Soul weary yet rise I do as rise I must defiantly refusing surrender though the dark clouds encamped above show no restraint in their oppression . Progression of afflictions one in trade for another has seen nare a burden lightened as multitudes more stand in anxious wait to restore any load released thus marching upon my resolve and trampling a pathway across my heart which now nears it’s broken end. Progress, I simply beg progress and though none be found my bond to Odysseus calls through the ages holding me to hope while adrift, tangled and suffering in this eternal journey. Though lost in the fogs of sea and void of direction as was my brother from time ago I shall press on in quest of victory surviving through prayers for mercy in hope my pleadings for reprieve shall in time be granted. Today’s continued struggle against defeat only possible through recall of past labors bearing fruit yet benefit of effort in hard fought cause now begs new witness as memory bringing evidence of such gain grows dim.
