The Color of Silences
Is black a color or a shade, that dims true colors? For black absorbs light from which colors glow to be visible. Is white a color or a shade that lightens true colors? For within white is all the colors in the visible light spectrum. It lightens with a dash of brightness. Is silence a sound or an empty gap in what's heard? Or is silence a shade that dilutes and numbs true sounds? Perhaps right down to inaudible. Can you hear the sound of silence? Is silence an empty interval or a vacuum, totally devoid of sound? Is it a state of absolute stillness and quietude, an interlude in time? Perhaps true silence does not exist, because you always hear something even if it's make believe, or your brain faking sounds or echoing the past. You can hear silences even though they make no sounds or vibrations in your ears. They are perceived as an interval, long or short, beyond a blink. Certainly, silence, the absence of sound, does not make the heart grow fonder. Waiting to hear is destructive. Hearing nothing but silence, hurts. Words spoken but unheard are still-born to silences. "For silence like a cancer grows".
