The Vineyard In the Desert Heat
Three hundred and eighty-eight acres of it runs across the desert land and a thousand peasants kneel in the ground gathering moisture in their hand to solidify the land. Hundreds of them partitioned in rows to start the promiscuous shows with scorched lips and burnt toes they gather the grapes from the vine just in time to make new wine. Succulent grapes pregnant with sweet juice hanging on the vine connected to roots walking without boots but their determination was there to give you the passion that they share. In threadbare clothes and faces burnt in the sun they tarried in the sweltering heat and pick a hundred thousand baskets of grape to fulfill the mandate at the gate. And when the hours were complete, they gather in their little groups and lament about the time of their youth. Everyone is talking about the sweet grapes that grow on the vine the profit it brings is more than divine, and so they organize daily trips with hundreds of tourists hopping off big buses running through rows of grapes hanging in the Desert Heat. Good things don’t come cheap; you have to work if you want to compete, the smell of grape floating in the air is attracting everyone far and near. The visitors are given a task, to pick a basket of grape for a bottle of wine so they gather in little groups, and share the task in long boots; in less than an hour they filled the basket with grape and complete the shape. They board the bus and went back to the top of the gate to complete the second leg of the race. One by one they climb into the basement, pouncing upon a little paradise in heaven, barrels upon barrels of white wine lined up in rows showing them where to go, fermented barrel stood still and the smell of wine saturate the hill. I stood in front of the wine drum and watched them stomping on the ground, the grape fermented for days until the skins are soaked to enter the next stage of the race. They transfer the juice into the fermentation vessel made of wood, stainless steel and concrete to give you that unique taste. Yeast is placed into it too, to guide the fermentation through and through and when the fermentation is done, the wine is placed on the free run and finally moves to the elvages. The wine is good and ready to go and so they place it on the rack and perform a quick test and stir and stir to acquire the finale taste and so the tourist come pouring in and walked orderly to the wine tasting gym And when the makers were satisfied they bottled the white wine and place them in boxes mounting high in the sky then ship them to the company. The peasants never tasted the finish product but the Vineyard in the Desert Heat produce the best wine for the street.
