I Miss You
I miss you Like the old time religion Visible in it's people And it's people living their faith; Resisting the temptations By the power of grace divine; Humming songs of praise From deep down within their souls. Christians portraying the love of God Conveying Christ's need For a sinner to come home! I miss you Like my first love The one I met On the narrow path To the dark caves In the green mountains; Mountains green, Meaning life, Life,in all it's beauty The beauty of our nation! My first love With the voice of a hawker Persuading A buyer to buy even what they need not to buy. But I needed you; You were a good worth the price A commodity worth the purchase. I miss you My new friend Of all times. My mother's distant daughter Cherished by many Loved by all Yet belongs to me For I am hers And hers alone. And she is mine Though not mine alone Considering her prince charming. I am ready to put it all aside The sword The rift That tore us apart; Throwing me to the far South Pushing you to the far West That we may never meet again To laugh and smile and rejoice In the unity of love. Let us put up a scene You'll be the prodigal son And I, Your loving Father And let us act it out And live it The parable of the lost son! I miss you Come back home And fill this empty space That you left Upon my anger That led to your departure The two things That stirred up the waves Sinking our boat Into the deepest of oceans. I'll swim and swim Till I get back to you My friend, Chosen and treasured Among all women!
