The Walls Are Crushing Me
"When God closes a door he opens a window." Quote - Unknown my nest became empty not because my child graduated high school and went off to university graduated from that got a job in another city fell in love and got married my son never saw the blue sky I held him but twice once dead in my arms and then to place him in his coffin bed where his bones will lay for eternity my husband and I took apart his lovely nursery room donating everything to a woman's shelter mom, I asked do I return the gifts to people after it was empty we closed the door and we wept holding each other my husband took it very badly sinking into a deep depression and funk I could not pull him back he was slipping away from me and our love one winter day he crashed his car and now my nest was empty forever I will never know for sure if it was an accident but, I still love him and will always now, what alone the walls crushing in on me the memories wanting to bury me lost in a dark hole of nothing I could not live like this way so I went home to my parents I went back to my original nest my old room to the love only parents can give and one step at a time oh yes, it took lots of time now, today, I have a new nest full of the things that I love and a sweet little cat to love will there be more well, only time will tell
