Deeper Shades of Blue
I'm feeling down, with a deep, sad hue. In a stage of life that turns the screw Where sadness reigns, and joys are few Where nothing here pulls me through Oh, how I wish for clear, blue skies To feel the sun on face and eyes Rise above this sea of ashen sighs To find my way beyond tearful cries Bury me Deep, Bury me True! In Deeper, Deeper Shades of Blue! Gotta shed the pain to start again Lose the jeans, drop the blame Clean the knife, remove the stain Load a new canvas in the frame As I dove into ocean it withdrew Poured foamy milk into its brew. Changing waters blue, to brown-tea hue Leaving echoes where color once flew. Bury me Deep, Bury me True! In Deeper, Deeper Shades of Blue! But for now, I'll sit here and stay In this sad state, of cloudy gray. Letting my mood has its sway Until a bluesy blew blows my way Bury me Deep, Bury me True! In Deeper, Deeper Shades of Blue!
