The Big C Keeps On Coming
Inspired by the moving storyline of Andie, the brave and courageous 9-year-old patient, from Season 2, Episode 2: Autopsy, of the brilliant TV Show, "House". It's an excellent ensemble cast. We all know someone with Cancer or have lost loved ones to Cancer. May we eventually live in a world where it no longer exists. The Big C keeps on coming By Michelle Morris 14/04/2023 Dying when you're 9 years old It's a terrible way to live The Big C keeps on coming Despite medical intervention Year after year of treatment Becoming an expert in your care More time in a hospital than your home Clinical procedures and chemotherapy Now they want to invade your body With another round of tests And if you survive it all It will give you one more year One more year with your family One more year on Earth One more year to experience life One more year to eventually get a kiss Is it really worth it When you're exhausted and in pain? Will it help your sanity To not live with one year gained? The Big C keeps on coming It doesn't ever give you anything But maybe, just maybe, this radical treatment Will help get you through this process You may die a ghost of your best self But you'll have experienced a lot more love And when you finally leave your loved ones They'll know you've flown to Heaven above © Michelle Morris, 2023 The Big C: A euphemism for cancer.
