Stranger
Two good willed strangers from our social order. In the grip of heated attack. One fails to abide by the rules and borders. The other poised, ready to strike back: ... "You don't know me, wretched scum! Our hearts will never beat to the same drum. I don't appreciate your business. Spit on your soul, claim God as witness!" ... "Be that way, strange lunatic! Your lack of manners makes me sick. I tipped you 10%, you have no ground. Now face my wrath that knows no bound!" ... If I had known, when I stood there What strange encounters I would share, Between two folk who hate their kind, Who'd rather fight than speak their mind. I'd wish upon a lonely star: "Get me the hell out of here, somewhere far Away from so called 'good intentions' Masking deep conflicting tensions." ... Now the star does answer me: "You are the stranger, can't you see? There'll come a time when you'll believe This world is not as you perceive. The tensions you speak of are your own Now learn they spawned the world you're shown. A world of pain, torment, and guilt. To hide from Love, this world you built."
