Enemy of Good Fate
I climbed the peak and you pulled me down You could have helped me stay rooted but instead you frowned Frowned at my success, frowned at my pace, frowned at my place You wished I had drowned And so, you pulled me down Down into waters I couldn't swim, I was trapped behind error's door Drowning through freezing cold, unfriended bodies as I sunk You prayed I would Let go off the ropes, see the light I saw it shine, felt it's warmth embrace my skin That light was my saving grace, it still is The reason hell dreads me and God's waters rebirth me I was revived in his presence, bought by his blood Brought to your consciousness, unbowed from the dead Dead in Christ, yet you yanked and yelled Yelled and kicked Kicked for the same air you wish to breathe You tried to push me off the ledge The same ledge you wish you stood You couldn't keep me bound in your darkness Chained by your ignorance and callousness A great evil I could have never known resided in you You fed it your fears, fed it your guts You fed it your pride, envy and lust You fed it your will, veering off the trinity's course hoping you fed me to my pains My soul being, your favorite delicacy - you portentous cynic Men's cries of torment are your favorite music You tried to cripple me before I could take my first steps You tried to cut off my wings You tried because you couldn't stand to see me fly You're the capricious devil in my life, the thief of my time You call yourself an angel, trying to be like the maker But you're just a fallen imposter determined to see my end Shaitan! You're my enemy of good fate
