Spreading Happiness--An Acrostic
Speak to me, please, only of glad tidings; Plant in my heart seeds of happy endings. Receive me with open arms enfolding Every piece of me take notwithstanding All my flaws and our misunderstandings. Desire not that I may lose my footing In this world that is constantly shifting; Not for selfishness am I entreating-- Give me joy that I may joy start giving. How can I to others happiness spread After all that I once loved are now dead? Pray, tell me, in spite of evil widespread Put happy thoughts in my mind and my head? Inspire me, thus, to see beautiful things; Nay, more than that, come be my help and wings. Ease my pain, awaken my heartstrings So that I, too, can deliver blessings, Spreading pure happiness to all dwellings.
