Dilemmas of V Day
I no more can find That word I had kept in mind For long to tell her. Few know: it’s not just In love that the test comes first And lesson later. Nor, love is journey, No station to reach any, And it puts them off, Love’s to give, not get And cannot be a sure bet, That too puts them off, At best love’s a small Pen, to pen love notes to all, Not one, yours you call, To sow seeds of hope, Of love, to reap a rich crop— A task most find tall. ____________________________ Happenings | 01.02.2023 | love Poet’s Notes: A youth with a lot of complaints against this world enters a dream mall, eyes someone looking like Jesus, who happened to be its owner. ‘What’s available here? Jesus: Go, have a look, everything is available and free: world without violence, hunger, poverty, disease, pollution; world full of love, friendship…all ye might wish to have. And a long list was given to Jesus. He made small packets of each. ‘What’s all this?’, the youth enquired. ‘We’re in the business of selling seeds; sow them, water them, and take care to reap a rich crop’, he said. Alas, the youth left without taking anything. These Haikus highlight the feelings many may have. We all want love without sowing the seeds.
