My Valentine 52
Six months my junior, she turns 73 in March. A couple of days ago she said to me, "I'm going for a walk". I saw her to the door and watched her walk for a spell along the driveway. As I watched her, just for those few moments, 50 plus years flashed before my reflective heart. We were young, energetic, and very much in love. Now, we have grown old together and are still in love. With cane in hand, she slowly walked along the driveway, as I returned to resume this, that, and the other as well as some 'what nots' and 'what have Yous'. Sometime later, the recall button of my mind switched on, and I remembered that she was still gone. It seemed long. I needed to ascertain whether something was wrong. So, I looked out of the front door and noticed her returning home along the roadway. I then proceeded to meet and join her on her walk. Reaching her, we walked together hand in hand. 020923PS Valentine 51
