Dear Heart
Dear Heart My Dear Heart, There's a bridge from your heart to sunny shores It spanned a thousand mythical miles But for some reason, you closed all the doors And took that walk down the lonely aisles Nobody knows of your existence Of a tree that has no branches or nest Because frankly, you like keeping your distance And allowing your heart to beat wildly in your chest That bridge beckoned you for sixty years And til this day it still stands in mint shape For you rebelled from your loved ones and dears Allowing your heart to conspire with your escape That first step will be a foregone conclusion You will leave this world a thousand miles away From the sunny shores amid your seclusion And then ... your dear heart will rise and ballet connie pachecho 1/30/23
