The greed consumed me until the hunger overtook my natural sloth-like tendencies, plunging me further into my own gluttonous personal hell. It’s your fault for evoking my wrath, for your nothingness ruined my prideful ego. *I wrote this poem on April 4, 2021, as part of a ’30 days of poetry’ challenge. This was day 4 and the prompt was: Write a seven-line poem about one of the seven deadly sins that only contains seven words in each line. I further challenged myself to use all seven of the deadly sins, one in each line, and each of the sins is in different parts of each line (in the one-seven place but never the same number).
