Can we just accept the Jesus gift? The one they need, spurred on by hearing, by believing, by tongue-confession, will they seek or walk away? When being handed gifts of bread and fish, healings and sweet talk, or hanging with the gang - all is good, but God will separate the chaff from the wheat. A large crowd followed, but how many are left to receive the gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus? If we are willing, we will receive the whole word, the living word, God’s word - the one that birthed the human race, and not erase the word we don’t agree with.
