Drowning
Drowning is one of the worst ways to die. You struggle to keep your head above water, Splashing around and calling out for help. But no help comes. You do your best to keep breathing, to stay alive. But you are only taking in more and more water. Eventually, you grow tired. You start to sink. Deeper and deeper, darker and darker. You hold your breath. Just a little longer. But you start to lose hope. Your lungs are screaming at you, “Just breathe in! That’s all you have to do!” But you don’t. You don’t want to breathe in the water. You don’t want to die. You can’t see, but your life flashes before your eyes. Reliving every memory one last time. You can’t hold your breath much longer. You don’t want to go. There is still so much for you to do, So much life to live. But your lungs win this round. You take in a breath, And you are finally at peace, every pain gone, forevermore.
