How Can I Say Goodbye?
My little boy asked me “mommy why are you crying?” In the midst of my sadness about you dying, I told him you went to see Jesus, because you were sick, He made you all better, He did the trick, Now you fly high in the sky with the angels above, Watching over us with your enduring love, When I was hurt you made me well, When I was down you didn’t let me dwell, Head Up High, Shoulders Back, You kept me moving forward without any slack, You taught me so many things how to cook and sew, You gave me your love and watched me grow, Your death has brought me to my knees, Crying and asking God to bring you back please, Just one more moment to say goodbye, One more chance to look you in the eye, To tell you how much I love you, and all the reasons why, To give you my love, and to hug you goodbye, God has the power to remind us who’s boss, Your death is so saddening and such a great loss, I will never be ready to let you go, I will always carry you with me and I will always know, How lucky this world was to have you, How much you loved me and how much I love you to.
