Don'T Blame God
DON'T BLAME GOD Why is there sin and suffering In this world today, If the creator is a loving God? You hear your neighbor say. The sun still shines and water falls, But from a cloudy sky. And storms will come Which frightens you and I. Why do men war, kill, and steal At morning, noon, or night? Why does sickness bring us death, Take loved ones from our sight? Then we're told it is God's fault, He hates the beings He's made. And, so men feel wrath and fear, Their misery is great. But this cannot be the case, For evil powers that be Are not God's will at all, But from an enemy. Long before our earth was made, In very distant past, An angel thought he could be God, And started trouble fast. He told the angels many lies, Convinced a third of them They didn't need God's laws at all, Thus began suffering and sin. So when God made, in His image, man, He gave them a simple test. They needed to learn to trust in Him, And in His arms to rest. They failed this simple test for them, And ate from the forbidden tree. They started thinking confusing thoughts, No longer were truly free. That angel spoiled their lives that day And had them thinking wrong. Soon they realized their woeful sin And learned God's glorious plan. God's Son offered to die for man, And give us a second choice, Through His power be freed from sin, By heeding the Spirit's voice. So don't blame God, but a fallen angel, Who soon will be destroyed and gone. And, all those serving this evil being Will disappear in the great beyond. Copyright, Kathryn Search
