Perceived Miracles
I walk in the door, my dog is looking at me wagging his tail, sniffing around my shopping bags, He has that suspicious perplexed look on his face, Oh I’ve seen it many times before I know what he’s thinking, how the hell I can come home with a fully cooked chicken in a bag, yet he cannot find so much as a stale roadkill, when out for a walk I look back at him perplexed too, do you really think chickens just immolate themselves, then jump cooked into a bag, to be picked up along the street by me He’s still looking perplexed as I give him his share, Still imperceptibly our curiosity and suspicion of each other evaporates, as we polish off this beautiful creature, Then as I’m licking my fingers, the real miracle happens when I say, Hey Siri! put the TV on Ch 8, and on it comes, as for the dog he’s thoroughly engrossed licking his/erm himself By David Kavanagh
