When Two Becomes One
Friday night arrives, leaves me gasping for breath as I try to compose myself and answer the door. Six foot two and dark brown hair with doe brown eyes, cleanly shaved and the rest of him hidden behind an armful of the biggest most colorful bunch of lilies I've seen and a bottle of wine in the other. He beams at me, right eyebrow lifts as he greets me best as he can with flowers in my back. We pass through the kitchen flowers placed aside in bowl of water, glass of wine in hand, as I finish. I can feel his presence warm against my neck as he spins me around to gaze into my eyes, crushing my lips fervently. Hands search deeper into my skin pressing his longing towards me. So long we have waited for this moment a soldiers life taking him away from me for months on end. A powerful desire takes over hurriedly he sweeps me off my feet gathering my skirt he makes me float on air. Thumping heartbeats vibrating against one another as we mount the stairs to the bedroom. He sets me back on my feet tenderly, stroking my hair as if remembering, burying his nose against my neck, devouring its familiar fragrance, he takes time to rediscover familiar territory, arousing his attention, prepared to fulfill his role. His duty to prepare for battle to send his men in to perform their duties and get out as quickly as possible. Allowing but one's entry to safety, to ensure humanity's existence as per orders. Entwined together our bodies fight for peace, every emotion passes through us, all those turbulent times now surrendered, misgivings forgotten, months of love bundled from two into one. We create...
