Broken Wishbone
There is a childlike quality Between the two contenders Who vie for the biggest portion The wish that will come true The win that provides anew Second chances, rosy romances Heartfelt enlightenment, delight Within the one who competes For the wishbone’s big dream! I’ve competed so many times Challenged most typically by a friend For the larger percentage of the wishbone The part that will assure my heart Wishes made while the bone was intact Before being broken in two pieces By two who know the mystery of a wish Made by opponents who believe… The broken wishbone will surely bring Joy and love, peace and promise ~ Beautiful beaches, sunrises and autumn Moments filled with love stories, poetry Dreams that come true and will always bring Reassurance that everything in life Is measured by the light poured out from inside The heart who knows – the bigger portion of The broken wishbone goes to the player Who knows that there is pure gold inside those Who compete with the knowing – That in life and in this struggle there are actually Two winners – the one whose wish comes true And the one who knows that, because their rival Won the wishbone wish, theirs did too!
