Katies Birds
Katie had a habit of inviting birds home to roost. She had a fine mansion on a street known as Troost. Her neighbors heard trills and caws coming out of her roof. This poem is not the only thing that can provide proof. Katie was well known as the fix-it-up-queen. She would fix up any fowl with feathers, even the mean. Hawks and ravens lived in her attic along with a bat. They were so intimidating, they frightened her cat. The cat ran off to another home and adopted another Mom. The best scenario, if you asked the Pelican, Petey Pee Pom. The eagles were carnivores and demanded meat. The penguin required ice, where they floated so sweet. This is a mixed up mess, a house for the slightly insane. Said a man who came to visit and got chased off by her crane. The seagulls and pigeons constructed an army of sorts. Her animals were well known in all the king’s courts.
