Did Not Know She Was Holding a Grudge
She did not speak to me for a year. I was busy, and did not realize she was holding a grudge. I did not do anything to her, as far as I knew. I kept leaving messages, but she never called me back. One day she was at a mutual friend’s house. I said “Marilee is there!” The friend said “yes”. I said, “Put her on the phone.” I was delighted to find her. Merilee did not get on the phone easily. She was sobbing and shrieking and screaming. Apparently her husband thought I did not like him. So, she had cut me out of her life. I asked for her husband’s phone number so I could speak to him. She shrieked at me “I am not giving you my husband’s number!” I never knew what it was, and I doubt I ever will. We were close until this moment. Anyway, I thought we were. I do not think it is up to me to try and fix this. I have moved on with other friends. I would not ignore her if I saw her on the street, but I would not embrace her either.
