At the first sign of squall, I tried to be ready. As the storm approached I gathered all that I could, to make sure, we would not run short... of necessities. I tried to close the windows. I locked the doors. I listened intently to the sounds, of the dogs... in the distance... warning. Our cat even tired to tell me... in his own way... that the preparations I was making, would never be enough. They would never hold the line, of a whole lifetime. But, I am a mom, and I refused to take note, as to give up the game, was to give up the reality of real life. Disability or damaged? Tranquility... is only what can be achieved in the moment. Pressed, preserved, and assimilated into the system. "Danger, Will Robinson... Danger!" We can not prevent what has been dealt out fairly, or unjustly in the cards. But we can choose to raise, the ante, or call the bet. Even if our hand is forced, it is what is going to happen, in the end, unpreventable, like the returning of the tide, every day. You are a good mom. You are the mom that was chosen. That means you are the right mom or even the right dad. You are not alone. Don't give up. Pray, and be, a parent again. Not all children ever become adults. Some are trapped, in bodies that age with minds that stand still. Whatever happens... Know, and be at peace, be calm, "He" does not make mistakes. "He" is still in charge.
