What We Are
There are those who may chose to follow that old adage of, ' We are what we eat '. Yet so much more gives us potential, such as, We might become those who we often beat. I can also mention a few of those, who Have overcome those who may often cheat. Not to forget the memorable victories, That are many against defeat. It is hoped that we constantly learn, From all around, not just who we greet. As our social nature may appear cold, But really, we can stand the heat. What about the carelessness, where we're Not able to be prudent, becoming indiscreet? As if we're plowing through any terrain, With a four-wheel drive Army jeep. Then we deal with constant loss, As if we need to question what we keep. While rarely looking all about, Before we take the next great leap. Looking back to our consumption, do we see Great differences between those who do or don't eat meat? As both health and moral reasons are heard, and that wraps it up nice and neat. Just as we're given many vocal talents, Do we waste them without a peep? Or has our language enabled some cultivation, Sowing sometimes more than we can reap. Since we seldom seem to stand still, Yet standing tall before taking a seat. We are certainly made up of a complex mixture, With great variety that adds to the treat.
