Goat Tell
My heart is joyful, lightened, truly glad on seeing her upright and standing tall. Remembering the trials we both had, A miracle she’s even here at all. You may recall our little goat named Split, Who got a parasite, fell deathly ill, And how, as pseudo-vet I did acquit Myself with google and no other skill. Young Split recovered well enough to go back where my grandkids live, though things were grim, for she was hobbled, crippled, limping, slow; her chance for full recovery was slim. But time, it seems, has worked its magic spell; Her leg is fully straight and bears her weight. To a keen eye, her knee still has a tell. Her quality of life is surely great. In fact, today, while helping Genevieve to feed the rabbits caged there next to her, she playful chased and otherwise aggrieved GV with frolic and a mirthful stir. I think about how wonderful this is, For kids to grow up side by side in play. It conjures images of garden bliss, Gives hope that all will be made right one day.
