Masks
Masks All masks are finally gone; Enough of hand wash and tangy sanitizers, Those drapings on nose and mouth. Months of work from home late morning wake ups, Now rise from your comfort couch. Free from ailment fears and restricted wanderings, Let’s get ready with the travel pouch. Covid era is about to end with jabs mark surpassed, Having witnessed ugliness as pretty looking faces unmasked; Doctors left in blue as mankind shed its hue, Like incessant rains when patients kept pouring, Warriors had lives at stake as Covid came roaring, Even cremated those dead, when their very own tread; Two years of cold blood and finally some warmth; Many precious lives lost as tears flooded young homes, Humanity lost its colors camouflaged several times, Left to die in streets as leaves of autumn crushed, Healed elderly abandoned by their own blood ; A Mother’s wait is over as remorse drowns in tears; But for the masks of diplomacy an unending greed for the land, To prove its mettle and invoke fears of wars, Will those cruel minds ever embrace subtlety, And give up the swathes; For the time has come to breathe in some fresh air !
