Stroll In the Woods
The rustling of leaves the buzz from the hives, the sound of lapping water is what makes the woods alive. on one fine afternoon thought to take a stroll in the woods Hoping the fresh air would clear the days worries. Saw a mother squirrel gathering the chestnuts keeping a watchful eye on her babies and I must say I admired their guts For they played near a snakes nest. I sat there watching on the heather Gazing absentmindedly at their little play And loo striked the snake Gobling one in a mouthful. Running came their mother and took the others away, The nuts long forgotten on the dreary ground. evening fell but the mother didn't return near her child's prey, for she knew she had a family to protect. That afternoon taught me a lot Clearing my mind helping me to think straight Men are born and so do they die Bring grief and unhappiness But moving on and prioritising is the best way out.
