Sung in the key of G, starting on D above middle C, all notes at or above that D, with ^ denoting the D 1 octave up: D-B-B-A-G-F-G-A A-C-C-B-A#-B C-D^-D^-C-B-C-E-A G-F-D-B-A-G I love to sing the sto-r-ies* Of Jesus, come to earth Of his great con-de-sce-n-sion* and Mary’s virgin birth. I love to tell the stories Of when he was a boy They found him in the temple His Father was his joy Of calling his disciples, His ministry began “You can all set your nets aside For now, we fish for men.” The stories of his healing The crippled, lame and blind And how he gladly did them A greater work in mind He loved to tell us parables The kingdom there within Which some received, and others, not He knew the hearts of men I love to tell the stories They nailed him to a tree And though the cross was horrid, He, precious, died for me How on that blessed morning He rose up from the grave The stone was rolled, He was not there Yes, that one is my fave And how he then ascended For all were there to see And how he sits at God’s right hand And intercedes for me When he ascended heavenly, We weren’t left in the lurch He sent his Spirit on that day And thus, He formed the church I love to tell the stories of Jesus Christ, my king and when I tell these stories I cannot help but sing ---------- *first and third lines sung with 8 beats Everybody is sick at my daughter's house, so I took my grandchild to school today. We like to sing, this came out. I know this is some old hymn tune, but I don't know what it is. I also don't know how to specify the octave with which a note is associated...
