Mental Cage
After the phones retire- The guards will begin to conspire. Paranoia’s bliss. Is replaced by my first night’s kiss. And the howling that used to be kept at bay- Circulates these evil halls as night follows day. I am now too tired to flail. I refuse to scream for help, for they will keep me longer in this jail. But once I am free, this place I will grieve. Even though they are the ones who deceive. Take my possessions- all except hope! The first glistening I’d felt, like water that finds soap- Is now glaring through the fog of the past. All those years of wishes being cast… I shall cry to all those years of lost freedom. I never thought that in this cage would be my least lonesome. To everyone in here who wants to follow- There is more in this life, than this depression that is hollow!
