Those Whispering Wings
When the earth in me scorched with heat, leaving it arid and banal. Long strenuous trail crammed me, choking me to death. Thrusting the life in me to an impregnable battle -array, I lay there in the bed of thorns, wading and waning off from the last slumber. Plagued thoughts of never seeing the world of my dreams again, those nightmares, gruesome stalked me. Perseverance to achieve my dreams I did have, once was a shield and amour for my loved ones, today I lie there playing cat and mouse with life instead. Culling me from my loved ones, leaving me at the end of pain, life left me in the bosom of death. Yet few breaths left, cantillated life in me. As she came by fluttering wings, emitting a strange luminescence. The radiance in her entered my soul, comforting the strife of my night. Perplexed I was! Who are you, Angel? A deafening clamour amid death-like desolation, came out from my soul. Angel is here to wipe off the agony, of this bag of bones. Spread out the wings that whisper, angel said! I retorted aloud, whenever I tried to spread my wings that whisper, silently and in agony, it cries. Shackles that confine those wings, curbing the flight, leaving you with fragmented hope. Ban those thoughts, thus, the angel spoke. I sat there brooding about what angel spoke, I can, I will, I shall yelled out my whispering wings. Cried out my heart aloud, you are my angel in disguise, you eased off my pain with your eyes. Belief I had in me somewhere, awakened that strength in me by angel. My wings spread out, taking a massive flight, wings that whispered once, Sang out loud. ©Chitra Arun
