Our One and Only Daughter
Our One and Only Daughter To Barbara and Danielle By Franklin Price 01/23/2022 Our one and only daughter Left our warm cocoon today She was with me at your passing Today she had to go away We held you as you breathed your last And we hugged each other tight God put his peace upon us As He took you from the fight The last breath that you took on earth Was your first at Heaven's door Christ died on the cross for you You lived your life that way and more Been five days since He took you Did away with all your pain We've bonded every day since then We have harvested the grain You were sitting right there with us As we went through memories. That we could be together Calmed the tossed and stormy seas We cried and held each other Sharing good thoughts in our house Sorting through a life of memories By a daughter and a spouse She was supposed to leave tomorrow When you went that was the plan We felt last night, today was right Think we were guided by the Man She left a little after first light For her trip today is far Tonight she'll be at home again We'll both be looking for your star You'll always be here with us Always be her mom, my bride. We'll see you again in Heaven At the ending of our ride.
