His Perfect Love
Part 1 Two thousand years ago In life’s darkness there was a gleam, A Child in a virgin’s womb did grow, It seemed an impossible dream, Yet, with our Creator in control Miracles occur every day, And this birth of a perfect Soul Was unique in a special way. The first time an Angel of Light Was transplanted into a virgin’s womb, He was to bring us out of our Night, Out of Death’s bottomless Tomb. He was to champion the cause of Truth And set on high God’s matchless Name; This he prepared for, in his youth, Victory of Love was his sole aim! More than the usual Love Came from Heaven for all to see; God’s spirit rested on him as a Dove, In realization of a prophecy. Now he is the “anointed of God”, For that’s what “Christ” does signify. But, unlike Moses, who used a Rod Christ used Scriptures for a reply. A superman he was not made; With human emotions he was supplied Because, many times he knelt and prayed, And often he openly cried. He had deep feelings for the lame, For the poor and the bereaved too; In showing compassion he saw no shame Thus, his friends were many and true. So kind-hearted and merciful was he That he couldn’t pass the blind idly by; He had to show love by letting them see – Oh, how greatly his admirers did multiply. Many are the miracles that he performed As evidence of his God given powers, The effect was innocent hearts warmed As they told of them for hours. Jesus loved people, he was more than kind He was willing to surrendered his soul, Think of the things going through his mind As he prayed to fulfill that role. So profound were his prayers that final eve That, his sweat was as blood on his brow; Such great glory and honour he was to receive Yet, such great strength he needed now.
