Power of Words
Josie was an adorable girl, soft and quiet. She rarely spoke harsh words. Her words were like honey, sweet, and mellifluous. Even as a child, she won hearts with her nectar-like words and gentle nature. mellifluous words like sweet nectar and honey win everyone’s hearts As Josie grew up, she had to face a lot of disappointments, hurts, and bitterness. Her sweet nature was trampled by the ways of the world. She began to experience anger and sadness. Her words were clipped like sharp bullets, doing damage to all those around her. People began to wonder whether this was the same innocent, angel-like Josie. words like sharp bullets tear through hearts and leave deep scars unretractable Josie knew that she hurt other people and she cried within. She hated spreading her bitterness, but what could she do? She prayed to the Lord and asked forgiveness, prayed for strength to face the challenges of life and to remove her bitterness. She regretted ever having spoken harshly and went and asked those people to forgive her, which they readily did. She felt at peace and strove to spread love, peace, and joy around her. For she realised that words have immense power, and once spoken, can never be taken back. They leave unforgettable, lasting impressions. think before you speak words have a lasting impact we’ll be judged by them 12.11.2021 {Matthew 12:35-37 - A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.} For Charles Messina's "Haibun - with a message" contest
