A Letter From An Alzheimers Victim To His Son
This is a place where confusion found a home I am lost, in bondage, aimless, free to roam. I cannot tell you who I am or where I've even been, I am flesh and bone, eyes and ears draped in sagging skin. I long to be helpful,to have purpose and a place, But my mind it is so scattered, behind this aging face. I do not have answers to the questions you ask today, Although I live, my memory has passed away. I have never seen a sunrise or a blizzard until today. Today could be tomorrow and tomorrow yesterday; It really does not matter, my future has gone away. In spite of all that I am not, you do notice me, Yearning for a tender touch, a smile, a silent plea. I still breathe and feel and need you, more than I ever did before, The room is strange and I forgot your name~ But my son, I love you more.
