Honestly I really do not know. This yearning… Coiled deeply from my belly Causing my throat to patch dryly Making me to hunger and thirst… But for what in particular? Honestly, I really do not know. I have it all! The world at my feet A global name I have achieved all I have conquered all Or so I thought! Yet… I keep drowning in the depth of loneliness I keep drowning in the ocean of depression My life has no meaning My life has no direction My soul is restless Yet I have it all Or so I thought! Oh you insatiable soul! I gave you everything The world at your feet Why trouble me still, Let me be… That I might be at peace! But… All my soul ever wanted, Was fellowship. As the deer pants for water So my soul longs for God Waiting eagerly and anxiously To dwell daily in His presence Surrounded by His grlory. With the passing of time… He yearns and thirst For the fountain of life! Yet , I brutally denied my soul… Of the pleasure of fellowship. No wonder… I keep chasing shadows I keep chasing vanity Yet I found no peace I remain unrest… Until I bring my insatiable soul To drink from the fountain of life… There I live to thirst no more. ©Ayeni Oluwatosin
