Heart and Wheels
I had a car, it was like my friend, my child! The songs, I and the car……no one else but the car was my companion through the highs and lows…every delight and every sorrow! Except for simple servicing it actually asked nothing. Had just one request, “please keep me sparkling clean.” The smooth, noiseless glide…… No, I wasn’t obsessed! Even when I sped up, it was alert …..perfect reflexes, perfect control……my car amazed me, every time I drove! The space, the height and its sturdy style……it was just a perfect guy! Just a few days back it expired! The chauffeur had driven it to a near by market. It was on its way back when a biker in some dilemma sped up and got disoriented. To save the lives, my car took a sharp cut and smashed itself into the wood. The driver was saved, other lives were saved but my beloved died! I miss it day and night… I know for my help it would have cried! It got wounded. It bled. Cried in pain. Howling for me but I wasn't there. Makes me sad, I am feeling so bad. My love, my car craving for last few minutes to share, How come, I wasn’t aware and I couldn’t take it’s care! Everything broken, everything smashed, Oh! I feel it’s pain, those pauses between each breath! Dying pulse, freezing skin and dewy eyes! It laid there absolutely helpless and traumatized. It wanted to call me but it had no voice. Wanted a last bear hug but it collapsed even before I could sigh. Who says objects don’t talk, they don’t share? Why did we have such a strong bond and so much of care? How would I explain the telepathy, I had? What is that anxiety, which makes the vacuum grow? My heart flutters and longing for it never goes! I will miss it always, though it will never know!
