Reborn Here Now Without Baggage
Reborn…here…now…without baggage. Utterance of repentant lips. Christ carried on cross the damage— thorns, brambles, spikes, hooks of cursed whips. “I’ve made my bed, now lie in it…” Reborn here now without baggage! Merciful Lord, my sins acquit. Bitter, sweet and deep death passage… Baptism’s pure salvation-salvage, Refreshed with clean conscience, exposed. Reborn here now without baggage. Traded all my sorrows, composed. I’m lifted up on eagle’s wings,* Soaking up scriptures— love’s language. I’m grateful for the King of kings. Reborn here now without baggage. 10/14/2021 Dawn Poetry Contest Sponsor: Unseeking Seeker HMS *eagle’s is 2 syllables, counter lists 1 syllable Rhymezone Refrain, “Reborn here now without baggage,” was a requirement of the contest sponsor.
