The Throne In Heaven
When I pictured Heaven and how the angels sing Never once did I think of a ding-a-ling The throne for me was made of gold, a big chair so to speak And now “Holy Cow” it’s white and cold sometimes has a streak I used to picture angels, clothed in silver thread Now I see all the Saints rushing to the “Head” The pearly gates I must say were bright green and blue Now brown and yellow’s all I see because it is a Loo Yes, the throne is such an image I can’t tell my granddaughter Because I fear, she’ll see and hear then ask about the water A big bathroom up in Heaven? What am I to say? Is that why some clouds look brown on a rainy day? Is the thunder really from the rain or what causes it to start Maybe an angel has a pain causing him to fart How do I explain where all the water goes? It can’t come down as you flush or it would stain your clothes Up is not an option due to gravity Darn it Jack, you made me ask In Heaven “DO YOU PEE?” (this poem is not meant to be offensive) 10/13/2021 Written for The Throne In Heaven Poetry Contest Sponsored by Jack Webster
