Broken Record
I am sick of hearing, That same song. Change the record The feelings have gone. The refrain is not the same anymore, Now that you have left me, Alone, and walking out of the door. Without saying goodbye, As someone else had caught your eye. You declare your feelings for me were strong. Not strong enough, they did not last for long. I wonder if your new love will feel the same. And will what you feel for her wane. When you pursue a new pretty face, To embrace. What song will you both listen to, While you cuddle up and bill and coo, To this little turtle dove, To whom you have pledged eternal love. Love, I don't think you will find While you have this state of mind. This record will go round and round, Until your feet touch the ground And try to mend your errant ways, Because frivolity never pays. One day I hope to meet an honest man, We will have a lifelong plan. Our record will play on and on, Until our life on earth has gone.
