A Score of Years Ago Today
A Score of Years Ago Today By Franklin Price 09/11/2021 (8:20 AM) A score of years ago today As I begin this write The towers were still standing Were the tallest things in sight We the People, unsuspecting, That those towers soon would fall, In a place called New York City, But would affect us one and all. Never would we be the same again, Not from sea to shining sea, When terrorists attacked that day, They were attacking you and me. And what this country stands for Home of the free and brave Many of us died that day Had lost the peace for which we crave This morning, after twenty years, We look back and recall The actions that were taken After they made the towers fall We declared, forever war, Not on a nation, but a faction Where did we go? What did we do? What satisfaction, for our action? Separation has befallen us Getting greater every day Many terrorists, we find, Are in, the good old U.S.A. Today, this anniversary day, We should vow to heed the call Work together for the common good For we're about to lose it all .
