A Poetic Judgement Day
“What to look for in a God?” I asked holding a lightning rod “Who said this?” A spirit whose message seemed to be missed “It was just an inquiry Do not send flames to fire me What to look for in a God? Is a simple question from someone holding an electrical lightning rod Am I testing faith from my grave After a life where I sacrificed and forgave Darkness illuminated Hatred humiliated About the mess That I honestly confess” “No,” the voice did mention I assumed I got attention “I designed Your mind To decide Who should be your guide? It was a mystical thought Education I pondered should be understood and taught You with two legs, two arms and one head Studied what happens in the end when one is dead Do I exist? Or is this just a bunch of mist?” Checking the good guest list Hoping I was going to be granted an eternal wish I went to kiss Clenching my fist Strengthen my soul Already succeeded in all my layman’s goals “You are my God And I am proud of my job, I did on the place called earth From the time of my birth But now that my commitments are done It is time to know if I won A passport Into the heavenly fort Or am I due in some judgement court Where my actions are examined Waiting decision if I am damned Such harsh visions Filled with critical decisions” “Relax in peace Yes, you are deceased Rest there Without a scare Enjoy the warmth in the air That you are getting In this new setting Let others enjoy their time Eating bread drinking wine Using a host To discuss the Holy Ghost Saying I believe before the toast Avoiding being the lamb during the holiday roast Allow them to say their goodbyes Unleashing tears and cries Accompanied with sighs Normal results when someone dies”
